VERTEX G4 includes efficient features for the management of design and product information. A versatile package based on databases manages projects, 3D models, drawings, texts, assemblies, product structures, material labels, and bills of material (BOM). 

The format and content of the databases can be freely defined. The available database types include VERTEX, Oracle, Microsoft Access, and Progress.

Design entity management with projects

Comprising several 3D models, drawings, and texts, a design entity may contain several partial plans. Information related to a project includes customer information, contact persons, project schedules, pricing, etc. The content and extent of a project can be freely defined. The designed 3D models, drawings, and texts are stored in databases along with the project information.

Information for a 3D model that is contained in the feature tree allows the program to automatically obtain product structure format and bills of material (BOM) with material information from databases.

VERTEX G4 also includes functionality for creating Web-browser-compatible information from design and product documentation.
